Stereo Simulator
Stereo simulator is used to separate monaural signal between two channels for passing higher and lower frequency. Here is a circuit of stereo simulator separate the mono signals at two middle frequencies i.e. 6 KHz and 250 Hz for providing more pleasant sound.
Circuit Description of stereo simulator
The heart of stereo simulator is quad-amp TL084 and the whole circuit is build around this IC.
The two separate mono signals are obtained from pin 1 of IC1. Where one passes to op-amp B through preset VR2 and other through two parallel T network to op-amp C. The R-C network used here is used to attenuate 6 KHz to 250 Hz frequency signal from output of left channel.
The op-amp B is configured in difference amplifier mode to get right-channel output as difference of signal at pin 5 and 6.
Preset VR2 and VR3 are used to control manually for the depth of stereo and for gain adjustment in the left channel respectively. While C3 and C4 determine the sound of stereo so its value can be chosen suitably to obtain an attractive stereo sound.
